7 Superb Camper Trailers with King Beds

Tiny homes and the #vanlife trend may be popular on Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms, but a small living space can also mean a small sleeping space.

If your vacation or weekend plans include sleeping in the same space as your partner, or you’re just past the age where you’re happy to squeeze into a small nocturnal space, some camper trailers can be difficult to find options in.

While most trailers with a master bedroom-style layout include a queen-sized bed as standard, this does not always equate to a residential-style queen and can be up to five inches shorter. This can be a major issue if you or your partner are over six feet tall (or taller).

Transitioning to a smaller bed on your trip can be difficult, especially if you’re used to sleeping on a king. When it comes to stretching out, a king-sized mattress adds at least another foot to the width of the bed.

Of course, upgrading to a king bed is an option in some camper trailer models, but it usually comes at an extra cost and makes the sleeping area feel cramped.

We’ve compiled a list of seven camper trailers that include a king-size bed as standard, so you can truly unwind when it’s time to call it a night.

1. Palomino Puma 31FKRK

The Palomino Puma 31FKRK is at the top of our list. The Puma line from Palomino is designed to be durable and easy to tow with a 1/2 ton tow vehicle. The 31FKRK has an exterior length of 37’8′′, allowing it to go almost anywhere. It also has an interior height of 80 inches, giving you and your guests plenty of headroom.

This layout is distinct because of its front kitchen, which features an L-shaped counter and gives the impression of a residential living space. The deep sink with a roll-up cover, plenty of counter space, and cabinets are all located on the front wall. A three-burner range with a flush-mount cover, oven, and microwave can be found on the entry wall.

This model includes a 6 cubic foot refrigerator that can be upgraded to an 11 cubic foot refrigerator. The stainless steel appliances throughout the kitchen are a nice touch, as are the decorative backsplash and accent lighting.

The large pantry and entertainment center are located next to the refrigerator. The entertainment center houses a TV that can be angled to maximize viewing space in the living room, as well as a 31-inch fireplace underneath.

The dinette (or optional free-standing table and chairs) and matching recliners sit across from the entertainment center on the trailer’s front slide. The living room also has a trifold sofa that converts to a queen-sized bed.

The bathroom is located just behind the sofa and features a 34 x 34 shower with sliding glass doors and a skylight. Underneath the sink vanity is storage as well as a mirrored medicine cabinet. There is also a foot-flush toilet and a large linen closet with upper and lower storage areas in the bathroom.

The master bedroom features a 72 x 80 king size walk around bed with a window at the head in its slide and a second exterior entrance. There are two large wardrobes with hanging space, one of which can be outfitted with an optional washer/dryer unit. A dresser and space to connect an optional TV are located on the wall opposite the bed.

To maximize your outdoor space, another great option on this model is to add an outside kitchen with a mini-fridge and induction cooktop.

2. Jayco White Hawk 32KBS

If you’re not as excited about the front kitchen as we are, the Jayco White Hawk 32KBS has a more traditional layout. Jayco is well-known in the RV industry for their well-built trailers, and the White Hawk line includes luxury light-weight trailers. The exterior length of this model is 37’10” and the interior height is 81 inches.

The master bedroom is located in the front of the trailer behind pocket doors in the 32KBS. Two wardrobes flank a bench in front of a window on the front wall, creating a cozy reading nook.

The 72 x 80 king size bed is accommodated by the slide out in the bedroom. A large panoramic window opposite the bed has a dresser underneath, and there is an option to add a fireplace or TV to this space.

There is a nice entryway closet as well as a corner pantry when you enter this camper trailer, and the L-shaped counter in the kitchen space has a countertop extension for even more prep or serving space.

While the solid surface countertop and stainless steel appliances are nice, the pull-up charger station at the end of the counter that can be hidden when not in use is one of the best features here.

The Dometic three-burner range has a cool knife block behind it for easy storage. This model also includes an 8-cubic-foot refrigerator as standard.

The living room entertainment unit includes a 50-inch TV and an attractive fireplace that also serves as a space heater. The White Hawk’s second slide, which is carpeted and contains a roomy tri-fold sofa and a u-shaped dinette, is located across from the entertainment center.

The bathroom is in the back of the trailer, just off the living area, and it has a large walk-in closet with motion sensor lighting so you can see what’s on the shelves or hanging on the rack. The porcelain foot-flush toilet is located next to the large corner shower.

The 32KBS also includes an outdoor kitchen with a pull-out two-burner stove, small sink, and a mini-fridge beneath the 21-foot awning, which is also illuminated beneath by LED lighting.

3. Heartland North Trail 33RETS

If you prefer having the bedroom in the front of the trailer but don’t want to walk the length of your camper for a late-night bathroom break, the floor plan of Heartland’s North Trail 33RETS may be more appealing.

The exterior length of this model is 39’8″, and one of its main selling points is the crowned roof, which allows for an 82-inch interior ceiling height. That means plenty of headroom for passengers taller than 6 feet.

This model has three slides, the first of which is in the bedroom to accommodate the king-size bed. This trailer’s front wall is a large wardrobe with sliding glass doors, hanging storage, and washer/dryer hookups. A dresser, large window, and overhead storage area are located opposite the bed.

The bathroom can be accessed from either the trailer’s entryway or the bedroom. The bathroom includes a corner shower with sliding doors, a foot-flush toilet, a sink with vanity, and a linen closet.

The remaining two carpeted slides are in the main living area. The free-standing table and chairs, as well as theater seating with built-in cupholders, are located on the entry side of the slide. This slide has four windows that let in plenty of natural light, whether you’re eating breakfast in the morning or relaxing in the evening.

On the opposite slide, opposite the theater chairs and the galley, is the entertainment center, complete with a fireplace. The oven, three-burner stove, and microwave are located in the galley area, along with two (yes, TWO) double-door residential-style refrigerators.

Because the refrigerators and cooking area are on the slide, one wall can be used exclusively for counter and cabinet space, making prep work and cooking with two people infinitely easier. The dual sink is on the center island, which also has storage and counter space.

4. Venture RV SportTrek Touring

Venture RV’s SportTrek Touring line, in the middle of our list, combines the best of a luxury travel trailer with the adventure of those who love to camp.

This means that nine of their ten floor plans include a king-size bed as standard, and eight of them include outdoor cooking areas and/or pass-thru storage. All of their models can be upgraded with a storage rack for bikes or other outdoor equipment.

This line is definitely worth considering because the floor plans are so diverse that you will feel as if this trailer was custom designed for you. There are options for a back kitchen or a back bedroom, separating the dining area from the living space, or having an open floor plan with a hutch.

The STT322VRL travel trailer is our top pick for this list because it has some unique features while maintaining a familiar, traditional layout. It has an exterior length of 35’11” and an interior height of 82 inches.

The entry is located at the back of the trailer in this model. The 70-inch tri-fold sofa extends to a bed and has handy end tables on either side along the back wall. A large window and overhead storage are located above.

The theater seating is held by a carpeted slide in this space, and because the entertainment center (with fireplace) is angled, there is nothing to move or manipulate to allow the TV to be easily viewed from both seating areas.

This slide also includes the standard free-standing table and chairs that are opposite the L-shaped kitchen. The kitchen includes an 8-cubic-foot refrigerator, three-burner range, and dual kitchen sinks as standard. This design creates a sense of separation between the living area and the kitchen without the use of bulky walls or dividers.

The bathroom is accessed through the hallway, which means it is not visible from the trailer’s entrance and is not pushed to the far end of the trailer. The shower is 30 x 36 with a skylight, and the toilet is opposite the vanity and sink.

The master suite is located in the trailer’s front, and the slide houses the head of the 70 x 80 king bed. This king is two inches narrower than the previous kings on this list, but it is still ten inches wider than a standard queen. The dresser opposite the bed has a fireplace and a TV hookup.

The bedroom also has a comfortable window seat in between the dual hanging wardrobes, as well as a third wardrobe with a washer/dryer area. While this model lacks an outdoor kitchen, it does have a pass-through storage area large enough to accommodate a grill or other portable cooking surface.

5. Cruiser RV Radiance

The Radiance line from Cruiser RV has a variety of floor plans to choose from, with a king size bed as standard. The R-22RB is a two-person trailer that is shorter in length. The exterior length of this simply designed model is 27’5′′, but the shorter size does not extend to the interior height, which is 83 inches.

This budget-friendly model only has one slide, which houses the u-shaped dinette and a residential-style 6 cubic foot refrigerator across from the similarly u-shaped kitchen. The kitchen provides plenty of counter space and storage for those who enjoy cooking.

Another great feature of the kitchen is the trash chute, which is located on the counter next to the three-burner range. There are also hardwood framed cabinet doors with hidden hinges, a large sink with a high-rise faucet, and steel ball-bearing full extension drawer guides in the kitchen.

The bathroom is at the back of the trailer and has a ridiculous amount of counter space. The sink, along with a mirrored medicine cabinet, is located in the bathroom’s corner, and the counter runs the entire length of the wall. Additional shelf space is built in next to the shower as an added bonus.

The entertainment center is located on the wall that divides the kitchen from the bedroom and includes additional storage as well as a large TV. One of two doors along this wall leads to the master bedroom, which is on either side of the 72 x 80 king size bed.

There are also storage areas above, closets on either side, and nightstands. There are windows on both sides of the bed, as well as rooftop ventilation, and a TV mount is available on the wall facing the bed.

Optional features on this model include a bumper mount LP BBQ grill and A/C upgrades.

6. KZ RV Sportsmen Destination 362BH

If a shorter couple’s coach isn’t your thing, check out KZ RV’s Sportsmen Destination line of travel trailers. With large floorplans and standard king size beds, these camper trailers provide a residential living experience.

The 362BH model is ideal for those who prefer a lot of space or require additional sleeping space. With an exterior length of 40’9″ and an interior height of 82″, this trailer is a monster.

The bunkhouse is located in the trailer’s front and has 34 x 72 bunks on one side and a 28-inch dinette with a bunk above on the other. A closet with space to mount a TV is located between the bunks.

The living area includes a 64-inch sofa on the slide, as well as a u-shaped dinette with additional storage. The kitchen is across from the slide and features a massive 18 cubic foot residential refrigerator, three-burner range, oven, and microwave, as well as plenty of counter space and a large stainless steel sink with a high rise faucet.

The entertainment center includes a 30-inch fireplace as standard and is located on the shared bathroom wall, making it visible from anywhere in the living space.

The bathroom features a corner shower with sliding doors opposite a corner toilet, as well as a linen closet and storage space at the vanity.

The 70 x 80 king-sized bed in the trailer’s rear is slightly narrower than most of the models on this list, but the bedroom has its own exterior entrance as well as plenty of storage space beneath the bed.

There is also storage space in the trailer’s closets and the dresser across from the bed, where a TV can be mounted. There is also a washer/dryer section in the closet.

7. Keystone Sprinter Limited 333FKS

To round out our list, Keystone RV’s Sprinter Limited offers four travel trailer models, two of which include the narrower 70 x 80 king size bed as standard. The master suite is located at the back of the trailer in both models.

The 333FKS model has a great moderate length of 37’9′′, but its interior height is slightly shallower than the majority of the other models listed, at around 80 inches.

The kitchen is located in the front of the trailer, with dual pantry spaces on either side of an extra-large sink and faucet with a cutting board. For a unique functional appeal, the three-burner range with a glass top is located on the center island, along with additional counter space.

Two slide outs are available in the open living area. The first compartment houses two 7-cubic-foot refrigerators and a microwave beneath another prep area. The entertainment center, which includes a 55-inch TV and a 31-inch fireplace, is located next to the microwave nook.

The second slide offers a booth dinette, a free-standing table and chairs, and fully reclining theater seating. A large tri-fold sofa extends into a queen-sized bed with 6 inches of memory foam, rounding out the living area.

The sofa is located against the bathroom’s shared wall, which features a radius glass shower with a skylight and a stainless steel vanity sink beneath the mirrored medicine cabinet.

Another great bathroom feature is the illuminated light switch, which makes it much easier to find the light in the dark.

The master bedroom in the trailer’s back is fully carpeted, which is a real plus on chilly mornings. The head of the walk-around king-size bed is located in the trailer’s third and final slide.

The trailer’s back wall is a massive window, providing great views and plenty of natural light. On the opposite wall from the bed is a large dresser with a seat beside it, which is ideal for putting on shoes or simply reading. If you want to have a TV in your bedroom, the dresser area is also ready for it.

The bedroom also includes a large mirrored wardrobe with plenty of space for hanging clothes or storage, as well as another storage area beneath the bed.

Outside the trailer is an outdoor kitchen with a mini-fridge and two-burner cooktop, as well as a TV mount, so you can cook outside while watching the game or simply relaxing with family and friends.
